Tapioca Pearls (also known as Sago, Boba, 타피오카펄 만들기 in korean or 珍珠粉珍珠 in chinese/taiwan) are translucent balls made from cassava starch. This can be added with Milk Tea, samalamig or halo-halo. Milk Tea is a famous drink from Taiwan and now a trend in the Philippines.

A perfect drink for our summer season. Summer in the Philippines is around March, April and May.

I tried to make sago pearls with Cornstarch and it is hard but chewable. It takes time to cook and Cornstarch is not possible to substitute to tapioca or cassava starch.

Cassava or Tapioca Starch is hard to find in the Philippines. I happen to have this Tapioca starch for a very long time, good thing that I have a stock and here I made some to make a Milk tea for my family. It is summer now in the Philippines and it is perfect time to make it.

The name of the products I used are in my blog. Please check my blog details here:
