This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. In the Kato Platinum Clinic (Shirokanedai, Minato-ku), on the basis of MRI brain imaging, he contributed himself to the study of practice preventive medicine, diagnosis of dementia and developmental disabilities. In addition he suggests a brain training method using a “brain address”. He explains it based on experience in his childhood.
1961, Born in Niigata Prefecture. Graduated from prefectural Nagaoka high school and Showa University School of Medicine. 1991, he discovered of fNIRS principle of light measured from the scalp on the human brain function. He was known as the pioneer of fNIRS to be used at the facility in the world 700 or more locations. 1995-2001, he engaged in brain imaging research and Alzheimer's disease at the University of Minnesota Department of Radiology, center for MR research. 2006, Funded KatoBrain Co. Ltd. to support the social neuroscience. As a medical doctor, he discovered the hippocampal infolding retardation that causes developmental disabilities. In the Kato Platinum Clinic (Shirokanedai, Minato-ku), on the basis of MRI brain imaging, he contributed himself to the study of practice preventive medicine, diagnosis of dementia and developmental disabilities.His book " The method of strengthen brain" advocated a brain training method using a "brain address" (Asa shuppan)had become the best-selling more than 20 million copies.
