A 28-year-old Pocatello man was recently sentenced to prison for fatally shooting another man twice in the head while under the influence of methamphetamine.

Judge Robert Naftz sentenced Michael Angelo Miera to 27 years in prison for the 2016 murder of 36-year-old Brandon James Lenker, also of Pocatello. Miera was also sentenced for running over a Fort Hall police officer during a high-speed vehicle chase.

Authorities released the video this week of the vehicular chase and arrest attempt of Miera on May 16, 2016. During the chase, Miera struck Officer Kelly Taufer of the Fort Hall Police Department with his pickup truck.
