This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Dr. Charles Bingham has been studying schools, from inside and out, for 49 of his 53 years. He was a student for 20 years, and has been a teacher for 29 years. He has taught all levels, from elementary school to PhD, in many places—from rural South Africa, to Washington State, to Chicago, and now in Vancouver, BC. He is currently a professor for the Faculty of Education and Simon Fraser University.
